Role: Team Member - Warranty

Level:  Deputy Manager 

Location:  Pithampur, Indore

Purpose of the Role

The position exists in order to carry out warranty management activities like warranty analysis, claim to handle, warranty recovery from all customers including Eicher, Volvo and UD with the objective of keeping in control and continuously reduce warranty cost of the product within the limits of overall business strategy & plan derived.

Education

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.

Experience

• 4-8 Years in Customer Quality, Warranty.

Business Understanding

• Requires understanding of BS-VI norms and technology


• Understanding of powertrain and after-treatment system


• Data analysis


• Understanding of manufacturing process

Area of Responsibility

Warranty Analysis

Part and engine analysis of warranty failed parts in TMA with CFT and supplier(if required) to establish root cause and necessary actions and horizontal deployment of actions inapplicable. In order to identify the correct root cause of a failure within the limits of overall business strategy & plan derived for VEPT.

Warranty Administration

Review of warranty claims received from the customer by going in-depth of each claim and witnessing the failed parts and finally negotiating with the customer to decide on accepted and rejected claims and henceforth claim settlement along with finance. In order to settle all commercial warranty claims within the limits of overall business strategy & plan derived for VEPT.

Warranty Data analysis

Analyze the existing warranty data to come up with emerging and potentially emerging issues to alert the system and proactively take action. In order to proactively avoid warranty claims within the limits of overall business strategy & plan derived for VEPT.

Supplier Warranty Recovery

Recover the cost of all part related claims where responsibility is established as of supplier from the respective suppliers with support from Buyer and SQA.  In order to reduce warranty cost and bring out supplier improvement within the limits of overall business strategy & plan derived for VEPT.

TMA improvements and Engine refurbishing

Continuously improving the TMA setup through Kaizens to ensure that maximum parts can be tested for defects in the plant itself, thus reducing the analysis time. At the same time refurbishing engines in-warranty to support field team and also ensure warranty cost saving. In order to support field teams ensuring warranty cost savings.

Warranty Surcharge Finalization

Based on the warranty trend and SWR and the product improvements done, calculating and finalizing with customers the Warranty surcharge value for the upcoming year.In order to carry out the year on year warranty reduction within the limits of overall business strategy & plan derived for VEPT.
