Technical Lead - Moodle and Cloud Solutions

Role Overview

We are looking for a Technical Lead – Moodle & Cloud Solutions with strong hands-on expertise in Moodle LMS and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP). The role requires a blend of technical depth, solution architecture, and project leadership, ensuring seamless delivery of scalable, secure, and customized eLearning solutions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver, an effective communicator, and a team leader who can translate business needs into robust technical solutions while driving project execution and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, customization, and deployment of Moodle LMS solutions.

• Manage upgrades, plugin/theme development, API integrations, and performance optimization.

• Architect and manage scalable, secure applications on Cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP acceptable).

• Oversee system architecture, backups, disaster recovery, and security compliance.

• Set up and manage source code repositories and CI/CD pipelines using Git/Bitbucket.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps, Client stakeholders) to ensure delivery excellence.

• Mentor and guide developers/administrators, perform code reviews, and enforce best practices.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across LMS, integrations, and hosting environments.

• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, performance, and monitoring standards.

• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Drive project execution by creating project plans, tracking timelines, and ensuring on-time delivery.

• Provide thought leadership by evaluating new technologies, tools, and approaches to enhance product delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise in Moodle LMS (installation, configuration, customization, plugin/theme development, integrations).

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, Lambda, etc.); exposure to Azure/GCP a plus.

• Proficiency in PHP, MySQL/PostgreSQL, JavaScript, and web technologies.

• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and managing CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Solid understanding of system security, performance tuning, and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, New Relic, ELK stack).

• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.

• Demonstrated experience in leading teams, project/task planning, and client interactions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with client-facing experience.

• Knowledge of other LMS platforms or eLearning standards (SCORM, xAPI) is an advantage.

• Experience working in Agile environments.

Education

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Certifications in AWS/Azure/GCP or Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum)
