Job Description - Technical Leader - Agile Gas Upgrades, EMEAA

Job Description Summary

The Heavy-Duty Services Agile Gas EMEAA OTR Technical Leader owns the engineering execution of conversions, modifications, and uprates to the installed fleet of GEV B/E/F/H/GT Fleet Gas Turbines and associated Plant equipment. The OTR Technical Leader will provide leadership and technical direction to domestic and global requisition engineers supporting Agile B/E/F/H/GT Fleet Gas Turbine CM&U projects. In this role you will be responsible for managing the ITO to OTR handoff on behalf of the requisition team for all Agile B/E/F/H/GT Fleet Class projects, supporting initiatives that drive productivity and providing technical oversight/direction to ensure safety, quality, cost and on time delivery to our Gas Power Service customers. Depending on the team requirement, this role expects the applicant to be flexible to support ITO (AE / AEM) responsibilities as well.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as a systems thinker, understanding, adapting to, and anticipating interactions among major equipment within a combined cycle power plant.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned tasks and personnel across domestic and global teams, demonstrating full accountability for functional and business objectives.
  • Manage the ITO to OTR handoff (R3 case) and assign incoming CM&U orders to Agile Requisition Engineering team members based on workload, capability, and technical fit.
  • Own and drive OTR performance, including KPIs and metrics such as EAC, NCR escapes, Schedule Release, CCIMs, Parts OTD, FMI/Task OTD, FPY, ER case OTD, and Project Closure.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and workload distribution by maintaining broad awareness of team efforts and interfacing with Contractor Team/Leaders to optimize resource allocation, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and kaizens, challenging the status quo to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) for Gas Turbine Services projects.
  • Maintain technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and strong responsiveness to customer and program needs.
  • Communicate effectively with management and cross‑functional stakeholders on technical, organizational, resource, and personnel matters in a dynamic, global environment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across a wide variety of organizations and individuals.
  • Promote professional growth and team development through timely performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring, while bringing enthusiasm and results-driven mindset to the role.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related engineering/science
  • Minimum 12 years of engineering; or Engineering + Field experience on gas turbines
  • Prior Requisition Engineering experience is a must
  • Willingness to travel domestically/internationally, as needed on occasion

Desired Characteristics

  • Understanding of Gas Turbines Power train operation in Peaking and Combined Cycle configurations
  • Knowledge of GEV Gas Turbine product lines and systems.
  • Familiar with GT MLI/BOM structure.
  • Knowledge of the Legacy Alstom Gas Turbine technology.
  • Good understanding of the Services Commercial Risk process (R-Process) with focus on engineering process steps. ITO (AE / AEM) experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated strong communication (verbal and written) and facilitation skills, as well as a high degree of enthusiasm to drive results. 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of organizations and individuals in global locations.
  • Ability and an eagerness to challenge the status quo, without allegiance to past or current practices and technology, resulting in the best outcome for GEV and our customers.
  • Knowledge of BOP Electrical/Mechanical systems and Controls Technology (Mark, Advant, Alspa, HMIs, OpFlex and other controls technologies).
  • Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
