Technology Lead Android

Launched in 2007 by Aloke Bajpai & Rajnish Kumar, ixigo is a technology company focused on empowering Indian travelers to plan, book and manage their trips across rail, air, buses and hotels. ixigo assists travelers in making smarter travel decisions by leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science-led innovations on ixigo’s OTA platforms, including websites and mobile applications.

ConfirmTkt and AbhiBus became a part of ixigo in 2021. ixigo is headquartered in Gurugram with offices in Bangalore (ConfirmTkt) and Hyderabad (AbhiBus). The ixigo, ConfirmTkt and AbhiBus apps allow travellers to book train tickets, flight tickets, bus tickets, hotels, cabs and provide travel utility tools and services developed using in-house proprietary algorithms and crowd- sourced information. In 2022, as per data.ai, ixigo was featured in the Top 10 most downloaded travel apps worldwide.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Technology Lead – Android to drive the design, development, and optimization of our Android applications. You will play a key role in leading a team of developers, architecting robust solutions, and delivering high-quality mobile products that delight users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of Android applications.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to define and deliver new features.

• Mentor and guide a team of Android developers, conducting code reviews and ensuring best practices.

• Drive performance, reliability, and maintainability improvements.

• Research and apply the latest mobile development trends, tools, and technologies.

• Ensure high code quality with unit tests, instrumentation, and automation.

• Manage app releases and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Android.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and efficiently.

Qualifications :

• 7-9 years of Android development experience with Kotlin (and Java).

• Strong understanding of Android SDK, architecture components (MVVM, Jetpack), and design patterns.

• Proven experience in leading Android development teams or projects.

• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and cloud services.

• Familiarity with tools like Android Studio, Git, JIRA, Firebase, and Crashlytics.

• Solid understanding of memory management, multithreading, and performance optimization.

• Experience with CI/CD tools and writing automated tests (JUnit, Espresso).

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
