Technology Leader - Wealth & Custody (Bangalore)

As the Technology Leader for Software Engineering you will play a pivotal role in driving the technological vision and strategy for Kotak Tech's Wealth and Custody businesses. Your leadership will be instrumental in modernizing legacy systems, enhancing engineering excellence, and building real-time data capabilities, ultimately enabling growth, a differentiated client experience, and stronger technology governance.

What You Will Lead

• Technology strategy and architecture for Private Wealth and Custody platforms.
• Modernization of legacy systems into cloud-ready, API-first, event-driven, and resilient platforms.
• Digital RM enablement, client onboarding, KYC, suitability, portfolio analytics, and reporting journeys.
• Custody, clearing, settlement, corporate actions, reconciliations, SWIFT, depository integrations, and regulatory reporting capabilities.
• Engineering excellence across DevSecOps, observability, reliability, automation, security, and production discipline.
• High-performing engineering teams with strong ownership, agility, and business orientation.

Strategic Priorities 

• Modernize platform architecture - Scalable, secure, resilient and future-ready technology stack
• Enable RM and client journeys - Better productivity, faster servicing and improved client experience.
• Strengthen custody operations - Higher STP, stronger controls and reduced operational exceptions. 
• Build real-time data capabilities - Sharper portfolio visibility, analytics and decision support. 
• Drive engineering maturity - Improved reliability, automation, speed of delivery and risk posture. 
   

• 20 years of technology leadership experience, ideally across banking, wealth, capital markets, custody, wealth-tech, or institutional financial services platforms.
• Strong understanding of Private Wealth products such as PMS, AIF, mutual funds, fixed income, structured products, alternatives, portfolio analytics, fee engines, and client reporting.
• Deep appreciation of custody operations including clearing, settlement, corporate actions, fund accounting, reconciliation, SWIFT, NSDL/CDSL interfaces, and regulatory reporting. 
• Hands-on technology depth across microservices, data platforms, event streaming, APIs, cloud or hybrid infrastructure, Kubernetes, secure engineering, and observability.
• Ability to engage senior business stakeholders while remaining credible with architects, engineers, product teams, and operations leaders.
• Strong ownership, execution discipline, talent-building mindset, and comfort operating in a regulated enterprise environment.

Preferred Technology Exposure

Java/Spring Boot, Go or Python | Kafka/RabbitMQ/gRPC | Redis/KeyDB/DragonflyDB or equivalent | Data lakehouse and analytical platforms | Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker, Terraform | AWS/Azure/GCP or hybrid cloud | CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability and secure SDLC.
