Job Description - Textile Designer - Upholstery

Black & Grey HR is hiring for a leading textile and carpet manufacturing company with a strong reputation for craftsmanship and export excellence. Our client is looking for an experienced Upholstery Textile Designer to create innovative upholstery fabrics and support furniture design projects based on client requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of upholstery textiles, fabric development, and textile sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with furniture design teams to develop upholstery fabrics aligned with project and client requirements.

- Create original textile designs, including patterns, prints, textures, and surface concepts.

- Coordinate with textile mills and suppliers for sampling, development, and production.

- Monitor fabric development to ensure design, quality, and technical specifications are achieved.

- Explore textile markets and supplier networks for new fabrics, materials, and design inspiration.

- Source and evaluate upholstery fabrics, yarns, textures, and finishes.

- Develop and maintain an upholstery fabric library for ongoing design and production needs.

- Build strong relationships with textile mills, manufacturers, and external suppliers.

Requirements

- Degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Relevant experience in textile design, particularly upholstery fabrics.

- Strong knowledge of fabric qualities, yarns, constructions, patterns, and textile techniques.

- Experience working with textile mills and suppliers on fabric development.

- Good knowledge of textile markets and fabric sourcing channels.

- Established relationships with fabric manufacturers and external suppliers are preferred.

- Strong creativity, communication, coordination, and vendor management skills.
