Roles and Responsibilities
Perform threat hunts based on threat intelligence, threat actor TTPs and IOCs, and other threat hunting hypotheses
Weekly reporting of threat hunting progress
Threat Hunting supporting incident response
Assists with Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability Management functions as backup or rotation sme
Assists with Audit/Regulatory/Compliance requirements around Threat Intelligence, Hunting, Vulnerability Management
Produce key metrics and reports that help to promote the value of threat hunting
Contribute to a team of cyber threat intelligence and vulnerability management analysts
Communicate to stakeholders the value of threat hunting and work with them to address hunt findings
Analyze the potential impact of new threats and exploits and communicate risks to relevant business units and leadership.
Provide cyber risk and threat identification by proactively and continuously monitoring the internal and external landscape for relevant events, risks, and threats related to the cyber landscape
Exceptional time management is required to balance strategic and operational support needs in day-to-day activities
Job Requirements:
Functional skills:
In-depth knowledge of Threat Intelligence, Threat Actors and Techniques
Knowledge of the following areas: Intelligence gathering, analysis and dissemination
In-depth knowledge of report writing
Knowledge of Threat Intelligence Feeds, Tools, Integration
Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, SIEM and EDR
Ability to use cybersecurity tools (SIEM, EDR, etc.) to identify and investigate patterns of suspicious behavior within a corporate environment
Ability to document and explain technical details in a concise, understandable manner
Knowledge of cloud computing security, network, operating system, database, application, and mobile device security
Ability to partner and collaborate with internal and external technology and business stakeholders
A diverse skill base in both product security and information security including organizational structure and administration practices, system development and maintenance procedures, system software and hardware security controls, access controls, computer operations, physical and environmental controls, and backup and recovery procedures.
Work experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience in Threat Hunter
3-5 years in Information Security or other Information Technology fields
Experience in threat intelligence and vulnerability management
Minimum of 3 years working directly in Cybersecurity Operations or Information Security
Experience working within the Financial Services Industry preferred
Experience creating trending, metrics, and management reports
Experience responding to cyber events and collaborating with Intelligence information
Experience in two or more security domains including Security Governance and Oversight, Security Risk Management, Network Security, Threat and Vulnerability Management, and Incident Response and Forensics
