Traction System Skill Leader

Could you be the full-time Traction System Engineer in Bangalore, KA.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and solution-oriented teammates. You'll define the architecture and functionalities of traction drives or auxiliary converter systems, technically leading engineering studies to achieve compliance with initial performance requirements. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Mechanical Engineers, SW Engineers, Product Technical Managers, as examples), optimizing transverse requirements and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

• Collect discuss and optimize requirements with rolling stock team. Refine and allocate technical requirements internally in the Eng team, where you are responsible for full requirements fulfilment


• Defining full traction system architecture and functionality


• Ensure the traction system fulfils the requirements and customer needs in terms of mechanical, functional and performance perspective.


• Leading and ensure quality in the system design reviews


• Defining and participating in validation strategies, participate in train commissioning


• Be able to make technical trade offs in design changes of a traction system


• Drive technical project execution with technical solutions and QCD improvements


• Issue resolution and drive internally


• Act as the traction expert towards customer in discussions

• Master's degree in electrical engineering with 10 – 12 years of experience.


• Experience or full competence of traction and/or auxiliary converter engineering


• Power electronics engineering experience


• Knowledge of product and system architecture design


• Railway market, especially Indian railways


• Familiarity with project management and risk mitigation strategies


• Proficiency in English


• A certification in project or engineering management (beneficial)


• Able to work in a multicultural global environment
