Role Summary

• Responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring the school’s transportation operations to ensure safe, timely, and efficient movement of students and staff.
  

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, vehicle maintenance standards, and transport policies.
  

Key Responsibilities

Transport Operations Management

• Plan and manage daily transport operations including routes, schedules, and bus allocations.
  

• Optimize routes for efficiency, safety, and cost control.
  

• Ensure timely pick -up and drop -off of students and staff.
  

Vehicle & Driver Management

• Maintain records of all school vehicles including registration, insurance, fitness certificates, and permits.
  

• Monitor vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
  

• Manage drivers, conductors, and attendants including duty rosters and discipline.
  

• Verify valid driving licenses, background checks, and training records of transport staff.
  

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with school transport safety norms and government regulations.
  

• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and safety audits.
  

• Ensure availability of first -aid kits, GPS (if applicable), fire extinguishers, and emergency contacts in vehicles.
  

• Implement student safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
  

Parent & School Coordination

• Address transport -related queries and complaints from parents.
  

• Communicate route changes, delays, or emergencies promptly.
  

• Coordinate with school administration for transport planning and changes.
  

Transport MIS & Reporting

• Maintain transport attendance, route, and fuel records.
  

• Track fuel consumption and control transport expenses.
  

• Prepare transport MIS reports for management review.
  

• Use ERP / transport management systems for data accuracy.
  

Vendor & Cost Management

• Coordinate with external transport vendors (if applicable).
  

• Monitor transport -related expenses and budgets.
  

• Support cost optimization initiatives without compromising safety.
