The candidate should be comfortable interacting with leadership and mentoring junior staff, while still being hands-on with evaluate new technologies, troubleshooting, scripting, and infrastructure design.\n\n * Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure Linux infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance\n\n\n\n * Function as the Linux platform owner, escalation point, and tech lead in cross-functional environment\n\n\n\n * Mentor and lead technical staff, drive documentation and knowledge sharing, and serve as the primary subject matter expert for Linux systems within the organization\n\n\n\n * Own Linux system lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, monitoring, incident response, and remediation aligned with InfoSec and audit requirements\n\n\n\nKey Activities:\n\n * Document Infrastructure and Operations\n * Maintain up-to-date documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, deployment processes and architecture diagrams for internal teams\n * Plan and Execute Upgrades\n * Evaluate and implement OS, and software upgrades as per lifecycle requirements\n * Security Monitoring and Response\n * Apply patches, mitigate risks, and generate security compliance reports for InfoSec or audit teams\n * Monitor and react to security issues and \u2018zero-day\u2019 events; prepare reports accordingly\n * Troubleshooting and Incident Management\n * Proactively identify and resolve system issues; respond to alerts and incidents\n * Perform root cause analysis (RCA); document problems and implemented remediations\n * * Periodically report to senior leadership recommended upgrades and/or changes to environment including new concepts and designs\n\n\n\nThe Linux Design team is responsible for:\n\n * Day-to-day function, operation, and availability of the entire Linux enterprise\n * Regular recurring Linux OS and security patching and updates via established and automatically updated repositories\n * Provision of all necessary components for the automated build and creation of Linux systems\n * Implementation and enforcement of Infosec security rules, restrictions, and configurations\n * Accountable for Linux infrastructure issues, risks, and remediation efforts as well as the designated Linux support and contact\n\n\n\nTechnical Skill Requirement:\n\n * Expert knowledge on RedHat Linux OS, Kernel, infrastructure and security\n * * LVM\n * RPM\n * NetworkManager\n * Systemd\n * Syslog, rsyslog\n * Expert knowledge in Linux Base Build, Kickstart, and BM / BMR Functions\n * * ISO creation\n * Remote and automated OS installation processes\n * SME RedHat / equivalent applications\n * * AWX (Open Source) / Ansible Tower\n * Foreman (Open Source) / Satellite\n * RH Insights\n * Pacemaker\n * OpenShift Concepts\n * Proficiency in RedHat patching and security\n * Patch management strategies\n * Red Hat repository management\n * Can demonstrate proficiency in several SHELL scripting languages (ex., bash)\n * Can demonstrate proficiency in hands-on unassisted troubleshooting\n * Can demonstrate knowledge with RHEL OS history, development, and roadmap\n * Can demonstrate a working technical knowledge of several mid-range server models\n * Can demonstrate implement, support and maintain Open-Source software\n\n\n\nSoft/Mgmt Skill Requirement:\n\n * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a variety of audiences (senior leadership, project teams, peers, and technical understudies\n * Demonstrate and provide examples of self-written documentation: processes, detailed environment descriptions, infrastructure diagrams, etc.\n * Seamlessly work with various internal groups: application and project teams, infrastructure support teams (GNS, OSG, DCIG, CM.io, etc.), InfoSec\n * Create, provide, and communicate status reports for all Linux infrastructure to senior leadership\n * Mentor junior, intermediate, and senior technical staff; provide training documentation and conduct training classes\n * Create tasks and processes as necessary and assign to technical staff\n\n\n\nEducation / Work Experience Requirements:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree (Recommended)\n * In computer science, Information Technology or related fields\n * Red Hat Certifications:\n * Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) (preferred)\n * Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)\n * Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)\n * 7+ years of experience in Linux system administration or engineering\n * 3+ years in a senior level role managing enterprise Linux infrastructure\n * Proven experience designing, automating, and maintaining large-scale Linux environments (Red Hat preferred)\n\n\n\nAbout NTT DATA\n\nNTT DATA is a $30 billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune Global 100.
