UPS Project engineer

Position: UPS Project Engineer / Sr. Engineer

Education:- BE/ B-Tech/ Diploma- Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Power Electronics Engineering.

Overview:-

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, commissioning, and handing over UPS projects.

The candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of Online 3-Phase UPS systems, project management capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

1. Study and understand project BOM, system configuration, site wiring, and site layout received from the Sales team / customer and ensure successful implementation at site.


2. Prepare project execution plans, schedules, resource allocation plans, and monitor milestones to ensure timely completion.


3. Coordinate with Project Managers, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.


4. Execute installations in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.


5. Responsible for coordinating large-scale Data Centre, Industrial, and IT infrastructure projects.


6. Prepare and submit project documentation including Method Statements, HIRA, and Lifting Plans

Commissioning & Handover

1. Own the complete commissioning process and final system handover to customers.


2. Coordinate L2, L3, L4 and IST commissioning activities during SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).


3. Coordinate Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and Site Acceptance Tests with load banks


4. Conduct SAT demonstrations and customer acceptance activities for UPS systems up to 1200 kVA capacity.


5. Deliver operational and maintenance training to customer facility teams.

Coordination & Communication

1. Coordinate with vendors, PMC teams, consultants, contractors, and customers during project execution.


2. Coordinate internally with SCM, Logistics, Quality, Service, and other support functions.


3. Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans.

Documentation & Compliance

1. Maintain complete project documentation including plans, reports, commissioning records, and handover documents.


2. Ensure all project activities comply with applicable standards, customer requirements, and company quality guidelines.


3. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

Business Development Support

1. Identify opportunities for value-added services including panels, cables, accessories, batteries, and service contracts.


2. Generate and communicate potential business opportunities to the sales and service teams.
