URGENT HIRING – CONSULTANT PHACO SURGEON

Location: Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh

Hospital / Eye Care Centre

POSITION

Consultant Phaco Surgeon / Ophthalmologist

QUALIFICATION

• MS / DNB Ophthalmology

• DO / relevant Ophthalmology qualification

• Valid NMC / Andhra Pradesh Medical Council Registration

EXPERIENCE

• Experienced Phaco Surgeon preferred

• Candidates with independent cataract surgery experience will be given preference

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive Ophthalmology OPD consultations

• Evaluate and diagnose cataract and other common ophthalmic conditions

• Perform Phacoemulsification cataract surgeries independently as per expertise

• Conduct pre-operative assessment and determine surgical fitness

• Provide appropriate IOL selection and counselling

• Manage pre-operative and post-operative cataract patients

• Monitor surgical outcomes and manage post-operative complications

• Perform minor ophthalmic procedures as per expertise

• Coordinate with OT staff, optometrists and other clinical team members

• Maintain accurate patient records, operative notes and follow-up documentation

• Counsel patients regarding surgery, medication, precautions and follow-up

• Follow infection-control, OT safety and patient-care protocols

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong expertise in Phacoemulsification

• Good cataract evaluation and surgical decision-making skills

• Ability to independently handle routine cataract surgeries

• Good patient counselling and communication skills

• Professional and patient-centric approach

• Ability to work effectively with the ophthalmology and OT team
