Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable & General Accounts Executive to join the finance team at an esteemed IGCSE International School in North Bengaluru.
In this role, you will play a key part in managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and driving effective accounts payable procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in managing vendor payments, account reconciliation, and general ledger operations within an educational institution or similar corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Management: End-to-end processing of vendor invoices, verifying bills against purchase orders/receipts, and ensuring timely, accurate disbursements.
General Accounting: Maintain accurate general ledger entries, process month-end journals, and assists in maintaining overall financial records.
Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank reconciliation, vendor statement reconciliation, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Petty Cash & Expense Reports: Oversee petty cash disbursements, employee reimbursement claims, and maintain proper documentation/vouchers.
Statutory Compliance: Assist in the calculation and deduction of GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory dues in accordance with regulations.
Audit Support: Prepare documentation and assist external/internal auditors during periodic financial audits.
Reporting: Assist in drafting monthly financial summaries, expenditure tracking, and budget reports for management review.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience: 2–5 years of relevant hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and General Accounting (experience within an IGCSE school or educational institution is highly preferred).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime, Zoho Books, or ERP systems).
Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, functions) and MS Office.
Knowledge: Sound understanding of accounting principles, tax deductions (TDS), GST, and financial reconciliation techniques.
Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical ability, integrity, and effective communication skills for coordinating with internal department heads and external vendors.
Competitive Compensation: ₹35,000 – ₹45,000 per month (Commensurate with experience and skill set).
