User Interface Architect

The primary responsibilities of this position will include,
but will not be limited to:

• Helping with laying down requirements for new
  features and “stories”


• Understanding wire-frames and user-experience
  design and transforming them into functional requirements


• Developing applications based on the designs
  that fulfill the documented requirements and meet other goals such as
  user-experience, aesthetics, performance, reliability and scalability.


• Ensuring that the User Interface is conformant
  to the standard look-and-feel described by the User Experience Architects
  (currently based in Austin).


• Working with other engineers in an Agile
  development process.


• Working with a QA team to ensure the final
  product is as good as it can be.

Basic skill-set expected to be useful for this position
includes:

• Developing user interfaces for a Python-based
  application/web-server. This will involve both template design (Cheetah) and
  Django.


• Good working knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript/Ajax
  and the latest UI scripting tools.


• Experience in cross-browser compatibility
  exercises (primarily IE7+ and Firefox3+).


• Developing applications feeding the user
  interface using Python and among other things SQL.


• Well-versed in algorithms and data structures
  because these will eventually improve the reliability and performance of the
  applications you develop.
