Utility Manager

Job Purpose and Impact

The Utility Manager will coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management and troubleshooting for our engineering projects. You will be accountable for the performance of all utilities on the site. We seek an experienced professional who will ensure compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines. In this role, you will also evaluate worker productivity and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays and promote cost control or reductions.

Key Accountabilities

• Analyze utility usages to achieve variable and fixed cost and operating efficiency targets.


• Plan and schedule maintenance of plant utility systems using reliability models and predictive technologies in collaboration with Engineering.


• Identify, develop and gather the resources necessary to complete the project.


• Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.


• Monitor progress and performance to meet the objectives of the project plan.


• Implement non base capital investments for utility area.


• Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s / Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience in plant utility operations, boilers, thermic fluid heater, cooling tower, nitrogen generator, air compressors etc.


• Minimum 6-8 years of directly related work experience


• Other minimum qualifications may apply

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-3 years of supervisory experience in performing day-to-day maintenance of utilities


• Experience supervising industrial contractors, maintenance and field personnel
