Job Overview: 

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented UX Writer on a Free Lance/ Contractor basis to join our growing Product Design team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with designers, researchers, product managers, and developers to craft clear, concise, and user-friendly copy across all our digital products. Your work will be integral in creating a seamless, engaging, and intuitive experience for our users. 

As a UX Writer at Gravity One, you’ll help us create microcopy on interface, and other written content that guides users through our products with ease. You’ll use your expertise in language to ensure clarity, consistency, and tone across different platforms while contributing to the overall design strategy. 

The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling, prior experience within writing for product and user experience, and the ability to grasp the context of an executive user group. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Write clear, concise, and user-focused copy for product interfaces, including buttons, error messages, tooltips, onboarding flows, notifications, and other elements. 


• Collaborate with product designers, researchers, and developers to ensure the copy supports the overall user experience and design vision. 


• Maintain and enforce consistency in tone, voice, and style across all digital touchpoints, in line with Gravity One’s brand guidelines. 


• Conduct content audits, analyze user feedback, and perform usability tests to optimize content based on user needs and behavior. 


• Work with cross-functional teams to understand the product's functionality and the user’s journey to create effective and meaningful content. 


• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a company-wide content style guide, ensuring it evolves with the brand’s voice. 


• Act as an advocate for the user experience, ensuring that written content is aligned with user goals and behaviors. 


• Help ensure that all content is accessible and inclusive for diverse audiences. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 


• 7-10 years of experience as a UX Writer, Content Strategist, or similar role, preferably in a product or digital environment. 


• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in writing for digital interfaces, microcopy, and other user-centered content. 


• A deep understanding of UX principles and how written content fits into the overall user experience. 


• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with designers, developers, and other stakeholders. 


• Attention to detail with the ability to balance creative expression and functional clarity. 


• Ability to understand and implement brand voice and tone, while adapting to different product needs. 


• Familiarity with tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD is a plus. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with design sprints. 


• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive writing practices. 


• Experience working in SaaS, mobile applications, or other digital products. 


• A passion for design, user-centered thinking, and creating delightful user experiences.
