Job Description – Vessel Operator

Core purpose of the role: To co-ordinate the day to day operational activities of voyage and time chartered tankers.

Summary of responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with agreed charterparty terms
• Communicate with charterers, brokers, agents and vessels regarding voyage orders and vessel itineraries
• Monitor vessel movement and voyage performances
• Review vessel stowage and tank cleaning plans
• Oversee the fixing of freight charges and obtaining cargo space
• Liaise with owners regarding oil major approvals
• Protecting owners interest wrt ensuring cargo release agains BL’s , LOI’s , operations covered under LOI’s , vessel readiness, compliance as per Charter parties etc

Experience Required

• 2-3 years exp -shore based chem tanker operator experience preferred but that is not a restriction
• Sound commercial awareness
• Experience as a Master, Chief Mate, 2nd mate on Oil/Chemical tankers or a non-seafarer but with chem / veg oil operations experience
