Vice President, Payroll

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Payroll to join our Payroll – People team. This role is located in Pune.

Position Summary: The Vice President, Payroll within the People Team is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and managing payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely compensation for all employees. This position supports BNY's strategic pillars by fostering operational excellence and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role aligns with BNY's principles by promoting integrity, accountability, and collaboration within the team and across the organization. As part of the Payroll Administration job family, the Vice President will leverage their expertise to enhance payroll processes and systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the People Team.

• Lead and manage payroll operations by ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, demonstrating expertise in payroll systems and compliance.
• Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate payroll processes with other People Team functions, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Analyze payroll data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process enhancements, utilizing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the payroll team, promoting a culture of accountability, integrity, and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations by staying informed of legislative changes and implementing necessary adjustments.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) is preferred.
• Typically 5-8 years of experience in payroll management or a related field.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, regulations, and best practices.
