The Role

Job Title: Sr Information Systems Consultant II

The VMware and Lumen Edge Support Engineering team is seeking customer-focused, detail-oriented engineers that enjoy solving problems, delighting customers, and have backgrounds from a variety of different fields. If you have experience managing datacentre architecture, networking, automation, vendor coordination we’d like to talk with you!

Job Description:

·Monitor, manage and troubleshoot issues related to hypervisor nodes and Virtual machines with good knowledge on VMware vCenter and ESXi, Site recovery manager (SRM) configuration.

·Experience in networking and VXLAN technologies.

·Should have good under the understanding of DR skills and hands-on experience on SRM setup, management. Managing DR products like Double Take, Zerto, etc

·Strong knowledge on Server Hardware: Cisco Unified Computing Systems, HP, Dell, IBM server, Nutanix etc.

·Experience in Server Administration; Blade Server, platform servers, RACs, storage, networking.

·Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs.

·Experience with different cloud models like IaaS, PaaS & SaaS

·Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.

·Supporting the operations and maintenance of the Bare Metal infrastructure.

·Leverage your day-to-day experiences to provide the voice of the customer to our internal teams.

·Execute on service restoration and critical event procedures.

·Write tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for the Lumen Cloud customer community.

·Challenge and lead the charge to stabilize and optimize the environment.

·Drive process improvements within the team and the larger organization.

·Develop tools and automation for your team and others using modern coding platforms and techniques.

·Requires limited direction and guidance with most tasks.

·Own and drive to satisfaction on customer issues via chat, ticketing, and phone calls

·Strong grammatical, verbal, and written communication skills

What We Look for in a Candidate

Preferred Qualifications:

·Passionate about providing high-quality customer experiences and learning new technologies.

·Demonstrated expertise in systems administration.

·Understanding of all networking layers, TCP/IPv4, v6

·Strong understanding of routers, switches, and firewalls.

·Demonstrated expertise in enterprise network administration and troubleshooting/analysis (DNS, IPsec VPN, BGP, Load Balancing)

·Familiarity with 1+ languages like PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, Java, C#, Go or Python

·Experience developing applications with an understanding of architecture, design, test, and deployment.

·Experience on an agile team using version control (GitHub, TFS), pair-programming, TDD, and code reviews.

·Open to working shifts (Sunday-Thursday, or Tues-Saturday) with occasional on-call duties.

·At least 9 years relevant experience

·Degree in Computer Science, IT, Information System or Electronics Engineering
