Water Specialist

Position Title - Water Specialist

Location - Bangalore

Key Responsibilities:

1. Water Project Management:

• Lead and manage water-related projects for new greenfield sites, from feasibility studies to design, implementation, and monitoring.


• Conduct source vulnerability analysis on water and prepare comprehensive reports to assess risks and suggest mitigation measures.


• Ensure sustainable water use practices and water balance for new projects.

2. Design & Engineering:

• Oversee the design and development of water treatment plants (WTP) and effluent treatment plants (ETP) that comply with industry standards and environmental regulations.


• Ensure the implementation of advanced water management technologies, including Mechanical Evaporation (MEE) and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems.


• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize the design for water recovery and reuse.

3. Water Parameter Management:

• Define, monitor, and analyse water quality parameters required for brewery operations, ensuring water meets the necessary quality standards for brewing processes.


• Analyze and specify treated water parameters expected from the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), ensuring the treated water meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.


• Ensure water used in brewery operations is consistent with operational requirements, focusing on water quality, hardness, pH levels, and other necessary parameters.


• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure efficient water use, reuse, and treatment systems for sustainable brewery operations.

4. Cross-functional Coordination:

• Work closely with internal teams (including Engineering, Procurement, and Operations) to ensure project alignment and seamless execution.


• Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams in areas related to water sustainability and project integration.

5. Procurement & Supplier Management:

• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for water and effluent treatment equipment and services.


• Review and validate technical proposals from suppliers, ensuring that they meet project requirements and sustainability goals.


• Finalize technical aspects of supplier proposals and coordinate with the procurement team for project implementation.

6. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

• Ensure all water projects adhere to local and international regulations regarding water usage, effluent treatment, and environmental sustainability.


• Prepare reports on water usage, treatment processes, and sustainability metrics, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

7. Sustainability Focus:

• Champion water sustainability practices across all greenfield projects to reduce the environmental footprint and improve resource efficiency.


• Focus on Net Zero carbon and renewable energy sources.


• Monitor and implement water-saving initiatives and technologies across the project lifecycle.

8. Training & Knowledge Sharing:

• Conduct training sessions and workshops for teams involved in water management practices to ensure a high level of knowledge and awareness of sustainability goals.


• Share best practices and lessons learned with internal teams to continuously improve water management processes.
