Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional web development experience, with strong skills in both frontend and backend work.
- Deep WordPress and PHP expertise — You've pushed WordPress into application territory. You've architected solutions with complex content relationships and integrations with external systems. The WordPress hook system is second nature, and you bring architectural patterns that keep a large codebase maintainable as it grows.
- JavaScript and React — Modern ES6+ JavaScript and hands-on experience with React. Comfortable building interactive, data driven interfaces.
- Strong CSS and visual craft — You can translate a design comp into pixel-accurate, responsive, accessible markup.
- Third-party API integration experience — You've connected web applications to external services via REST APIs. Experience with payment processors, CRMs, email platforms, or real-time messaging services is valuable.
- Performance and accessibility mindset — You understand how to diagnose and fix rendering bottlenecks, optimize database queries, and build with WCAG compliance as a default, not an afterthought.
- Collaboration and communication skills — You work effectively with designers, marketers, program managers, and stakeholders who don't speak in code. You can scope work, explain trade-offs, and advocate for engineering excellence.
- Build tooling comfort — Experience with Webpack, npm scripts, and modern frontend build pipelines.
To help our recruiting team review the applications we receive, we use third-party AI-assisted tools as one input during early screening. To reduce the risk of bias, identifying details - including your name and information that could indicate age, race, gender, or disability - are removed before your resume is analyzed. This tool supports our recruiters; it does not replace them. Our team independently reviews applications, no candidate is rejected solely on the basis of the tool's output, and all hiring decisions are made by people. You may ask for your application to be reviewed without AI-assisted tools, and you may request a reasonable accommodation at any time. To do either, or to ask how your personal information is processed, contact [[email protected]]. Making a request will not affect your candidacy.
