We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Winding Manager to oversee and manage all activities related to the winding operations within our manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical machine winding—covering motors, transformers, or alternators—and a deep understanding of production planning, manpower management, and quality assurance. This position requires both technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality winding processes aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Winding Operations Management:
  Supervise and manage the day-to-day winding operations of motors, transformers, coils, and related electrical components, ensuring adherence to design specifications and production schedules.
• Production Planning & Control:
  Plan, organize, and monitor the winding production to achieve targets for quality, quantity, and delivery within cost constraints. Coordinate with the planning and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials like copper wire, insulation materials, and accessories.
• Quality Assurance:
  Implement and maintain stringent quality control processes to ensure winding accuracy, insulation integrity, and compliance with design and safety standards. Work closely with the Quality and Testing teams to resolve defects and maintain consistent output quality.
• Technical Expertise:
  Review winding drawings, technical specifications, and process sheets to ensure proper execution. Optimize winding techniques and parameters to improve efficiency and reduce wastage.
• Team Management:
  Supervise and mentor the winding workforce, including technicians and operators. Conduct skill assessments, provide training, and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork.
• Process Improvement:
  Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation. Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
• Maintenance & Safety:
  Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure machines and equipment are in optimal working condition. Promote safety standards, ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, and conduct regular safety audits.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  Maintain accurate records of production metrics, quality reports, material consumption, and equipment maintenance. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management review.
• Collaboration:
  Liaise with the design, testing, and R&D teams to provide feedback on manufacturability and suggest improvements to winding processes. Collaborate with procurement and stores for inventory management and vendor coordination.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in winding operations in electrical equipment manufacturing (motors, transformers, alternators, or similar).
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of winding types (concentric, lap, wave, random wound, etc.).
• Familiarity with insulation materials, varnishing, and curing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency in using winding machines and related production tools.
• Managerial Skills:
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage manpower efficiently.
• Strong planning, coordination, and organizational abilities.
• Experience in process improvement and lean manufacturing.
