The role ensures compliance with IEEE 802.11 standards and identifies performance bottlenecks at PHY/MAC layers. \n \nKey Responsibilities \n \n1\\. Performance Validation \n\u2022 Conduct throughput testing using tools such as iPerf, IxChariot, octoScope, Spirent, or IXIA. \n\u2022 Validate performance across different Wi-Fi standards (802.11ac/ax/be). \n\u2022 Measure PHY data rate, throughput, Packet loss, Jitter, Latency, retransmission rate \n \n2\\. RF \u0026 OTA (Over-the-Air) Testing \n\u2022 Perform RF validation including RvR, RSSI, SNR,Adjacent channel interference \n\u2022 Simulate customer field environment and test performance with different devices including iOS, Mac, Android, Windows \n\u2022 Execute testing inside shield boxes or anechoic chambers. \n \n3\\. Load \u0026 Scalability Testing \n\u2022 Validate performance under high client density scenarios. \n\u2022 Simulate concurrent traffic (VoIP, video streaming, web traffic). \n \n4\\. Interference Testing \n\u2022 Test performance under co-channel and adjacent channel interference. \n\u2022 Evaluate performance in 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. \n \n5\\. Automation \u0026 Scripting \n\u2022 Develop automation scripts using C Sharp, Python. \n\u2022 Automate log collection, KPI extraction and triaging. \n \n6\\. Debug \u0026 Root Cause Analysis \n\u2022 Analyze packet captures (Wireshark). \n\u2022 Interpret logs from AP, STA, and driver layers. \n\u2022 Work with firmware and PHY teams for issue resolution. \n \nRequired Skills \u0026 Qualification \n\n\n * Education: Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree\n * Wireless Protocols: Strong understanding of IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), OFDM, MIMO, MU-MIMO, QoS (WMM)\n * Tools: Experience with IXIA / Spirent / Keysight test equipment, iPerf, Wireshark\n * Networking: Knowledge of TCP/IP stack and preferred experience in Layer 2/Layer 3 networking.\n * Analytical tools: Expertise in log analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump) for troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues\n * Automation framework development experience\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
