Creating Passion: Your Responsibilities
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assembly Quality – Slewing Drive:
- Ensure 100% compliance to Assembly Work Instructions (WI), torque charts, tightening sequences, and critical-to-quality (CTQ) parameters.
- Conduct and monitor in-process inspections for sub-assemblies and final assemblies (slewing drive gearboxes, motors, seals, bearings, housings).
- Verify bearing preload, backlash, endplay, gear meshing, shim thickness, and lubrication levels as per specification.
- Develop and maintain control plans, inspection standards, and check sheets for slewing drive assembly.
- Ensure availability, calibration, and correct usage of torque wrenches, dial gauges, feeler gauges, micrometers, and other critical gauges.
- Support problem-solving (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D) for assembly defects, leakages, fitment issues, noise/vibration issues, or test failures.
- Review first-off and special process validation for new assembly setups or engineering changes.
- Painting Quality Assurance:
- Inspect surface preparation quality: blasting profile, roughness (Ra), cleanliness (Sa), welding spatter removal, burr removal.
- Verify DFT (Dry Film Thickness), paint adhesion, hardness, gloss, color shade, curing time, contamination, and rust prevention.
- Ensure correct usage of paint material, hardener ratios, pot life, environmental conditions (humidity/temperature).
- Approve paint process parameters as per paint system requirements (primer, intermediate, topcoat).
- Conduct visual inspection as per ISO 12944 / company paint standards.
- Support paint booth audits, paint consumable control, and rework reduction.
- Handle painting NCRs, shade deviations, pinholes, orange peel, under-film corrosion, and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Testing & Functional Verification:
- Ensure functional test compliance for slewing drives:
- Noise & vibration levels
- Torque test
- Leak test / pressure retention
- Operating smoothness and rotational efforts
- Support FAT/Pre-dispatch inspection with customer or internal project team.
- Validate test records and ensure full traceability against serial number and batch code.
- Dispatch Quality & Documentation:
- Ensure 100% inspection of finished goods before dispatch.
- Verify completeness of:
- Serial number tag
- Inspection reports
- Painting records
- Test certificates
- Packing checklist
- Torque records
- Ensure export packing meets customer and internal standards (VCI protection, wooden box spec, moisture control, cushioning, export marking).
- Conduct final visual audits, dimensional checks, and cleanliness verification before packing.
- Coordinate with stores and dispatch to ensure zero damage during internal handling or loading.
- Quality System, NCR Handling & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead or support NCR investigation, root cause analysis and CAPA actions for
- assembly/painting/dispatch issues.
- Ensure strict compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, safety rules, and internal QMS.
- Maintain documents in QMS:
- SOP/WI updates
- Inspection reports
- Calibration records
- In-process audit findings
- Drive 5S, kaizen, poka-yoke implementation, and process improvements.
- Conduct layered process audits (LPA) for assembly and paint areas.
- Collaborate with design and process engineering for DCR/ECN implementation and validation.
- Cross-functional Coordination:
- Work closely with:
- Production & Assembly
- Paint Shop
- Planning & Stores
- Dispatch & Logistics
- Supplier Quality
- Design / Engineering
- Support training of assembly and paint operators on CTQ parameters, quality alerts, defect prevention, and safety.
