Job Description - Zonal Head - Ops & BD


Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Regional Operations Leadership



  • Oversee operations across 5–10 hubs

  • Ensure high machine uptime, utilization, and service quality across all hubs

  • Drive standardization of processes, SOPs, and service delivery

  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement continuous improvements


2. Team Leadership & Capability Building



  • Lead and manage Hub Managers, ensuring high performance and accountability

  • Set clear targets and regularly review business and operational metrics

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Hub Managers into strong business leaders

  • Build a culture of ownership, execution, and problem-solving


3. Entrepreneur Network Performance



  • Ensure effective management of 125–250 entrepreneurs across hubs

  • Drive high engagement, retention, and business success of entrepreneurs

  • Identify gaps in capability and address through structured interventions


4. Business Development & Expansion



  • Drive entrepreneur acquisition strategy across the zone

  • Identify and prioritize high-potential geographies for expansion

  • Work with Hub Managers to ensure timely onboarding of new entrepreneurs

  • Build local ecosystems through partnerships, referrals, and networks


5. Demand Generation & Market Growth



  • Own revenue and demand generation targets for the zone

  • Ensure effective execution of:


    • Field demonstrations

    • Local marketing and branding activities

    • Campaigns and partnerships


  • Drive localized growth strategies tailored to each hub/market


6. Digital & Marketing Enablement



  • Ensure adoption of digital tools and platforms across hubs

  • Drive effectiveness of social media and online campaigns

  • Monitor campaign ROI and optimize for better reach and conversions


7. Strategic Planning & Insights



  • Analyze data across hubs to derive insights on:


    • Demand patterns

    • Entrepreneur performance

    • Machine utilization


  • Provide actionable inputs to leadership on scaling strategy

  • Identify risks and proactively solve operational bottlenecks

Experience

10–15 years of experience

Industry Preferred

Agri-tech / farm machinery / rural business


FMCG / rural distribution


Startups scaling field operations

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in [Agriculture / Engineering / Business / Related Field]

  • MBA preferred (optional)

General Requirements


  • Strong leadership and team management skills (multi-layer teams)

  • Proven experience in operations + business development

  • Ability to scale rural / distributed business models

  • Data-driven decision-making and analytical thinking

  • Strong stakeholder management (internal + field ecosystem)

  • High ownership, execution focus, and resilience
