The main mission of the of Application Management within Practices is to work in close cooperation with Application Owners in each Domain/ Division to:
· Establish Application management framework and procedures for all WMIS registered applications.
· Strengthen the weaknesses in WMIS Application management.
· Define an adequate monitoring & reporting process to ensure that WMIS referential (MAP, SNOW CMDB) information’s are up-to-date and aligned with its respective Technical Architecture Diagram by the respective Application Owners and adherence to the best practices established by WMIS Application Management.
· Enforce standards, guidelines, and processes for maintaining new and existing applications following ITG & WMIS principles.
· Establish an application life cycle process from procurement to disposal.
· Ensure that detailed documentation of Application management procedures is maintained and available and promote knowledge sharing and training within the teams.
· Manage Quarterly Asset Review with Sponsors & IT stakeholders.
· Take ownership of WMIS Application Management tool (MAP) and ensures the reliability and comprehensiveness of the application’s information and ownership.
· Continuously evaluate and improve IT processes and procedures based on performance metrics and user feedback.
Responsibilities
The IT Application Management Lead of Practices carries out the following activities:
· Application Management
o Write guidelines, best practices, and processes for industrialization.
o Provide training or coaching to all Division’s Application Owners on the industrialized guidelines, best practices and processes.
o Enforce guidelines, best practices and processes to all divisions of WMIS.
o Monitor, analyze and identify ways to enhance the applications efficiency, opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
o Produce consolidated report on applications introduced by vendors to have a global view on Security Vulnerability, incidents backlog, scheduled maintenance and upgrades, SLA and vendor support.
o Publish a checklist to Application Owners in compliance with WMIS Application Selection Principles.
· Quarterly Asset Review
o Work with Application Owners/ Application Managers to ensure that respective applications up-to-date information are reflected correctly in the QAR such as: Obsolescence, ASC, Security Vulnerability, Architecture NCs, Applications Knowledge, Testing maturity and CI/CD maturity.
o Produce periodic reports to ADM management and sponsors on the current status and visions of all the applications reflecting the QAR data.
· Promote Community
o Promote open communication within Application Owners community to share knowledge, evaluate and identify areas for improvement in our Application Management processes.
o Work closely with Practices, S&A and WM Security for consistencies of policies and processes.
o Provide input to Dev Practices & Test Practices on the various action plans emerging from the respective practices that may impact the related applications.
o Provide KPIs on the usage of MAP and ensure that the respective Application Owner provide the inputs periodically.
