About the team

FIS™ Protegent helps compliance officers cope with increasing data volumes, understand more sophisticated product risks, stay ahead of evolving regulations and rapidly respond to ongoing demands from auditors and regulators. FIS® Employee Compliance Manager (formerly Protegent Personal Trading Assistant) is an online self-service application that gives compliance a central location to monitor and manage employee trading activity. Employee Compliance Manager automates trade monitoring and surveillance and personal-trading compliance with regulations. It covers the full spectrum of regulatory agencies, self-regulating organizations, and a firm’s specific code of ethics and policies.

What you will be doing

You will be a part of the FIS® Compliance Suite (formerly Protegent), providing development leadership and guidance to a cross-fuctional team of highly motivated and highly agile team of developers and QA engineers to design and develop our next generation compliance products and solutions. As a development manager on this team, you will provide development management and thought leadership, advocate agile scrum practices and principles and drive best practices. You will be responsible for the one or more scrum teams across one or more products, helping define and drive their development, quality, automation and CI/CD journeys. In this role, you will work closely with product management, business & development leadership, reporting into the director of product development. We are looking for a hands on development manager, with a passion for technology and willingness to dive in to solve complex technical challenges.

What you bring:

Knowledge / Experience

  • 12-17 years of experience  in designing and developing highly scalable and reliable web applications, preferably in financial services space
  • 3+ years of experience managing a development team
  • Hands-on experience in Java8+, Spring Boot, JPA, Angular technologies
  • Experience in CI/CD, automated Unit Testing frameworks will be an added advantage
  • Strong Agile SCRUM practitioner with experience advocating and implementation Agile and Lean processes
  • Experience managing projects and/or planning and managing development releases
  • Strong people management skills, including conflict management, resource utilization, team engagement and operational processes
  • Experience with cloud migration, development of CI/CD pipelines, QA automation, performance improvement will be an advantage.
  • Experience with stakeholder management and executive reporting
  • Strong focus on quality improvements and automation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum model

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated expertise at working with technical and business experts from clients, including traders, compliance users and investment bank
  • Experience analysing and understanding functional requirements
  • Strong problem solving, debugging & analytical skills, ability to work independently with minimum guidance
  • Good team player
  • Self-motivated and self-learner
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, lead and drive
  • Willingness to work across all areas of product life cycle, from requirements gathering to unit testing and application deployment

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Computers Science or equivalent

  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent communicator – ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion
  • Attention to detail and quality focus
  • Organized approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements
  • Self-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global team
  • Willing to travel occasionally (no more than 10%)
