The Architecture org of IT provides technology solutions and services that is foundational to the enterprise and builds platforms and artefacts that are consumed by application development team to solve business problems. As a member of the overall leadership group, you will be responsible for strategy and execution of planned deliverables of the Architecture teams in the areas of Data Strategy, Data Governance, AWS ETL pipeline and be the overall data custodian of SSGA.

As the organization leader of Architecture, India IT you will lead a mid-size organization ensuring the successful execution of projects and program milestones delivered from India with efficiency and quality, drive innovation, staff, mentor and coach the employee and execute the OKRs of the organization. This role plays a pivotal role in shaping India global hub to assume ownership and take accountability of the deliverables and ensure its done with speed, quality and increasing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Provide strong leadership to the teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture. Develop an ownership mindset and bring accountability in the day-to-day job of the team. Set performance priorities , provide mentoring and appropriate feedback, conduct performance appraisals, build and retain performers.
• Collaborate with the global leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy roadmap aligned with the company's overall goals. Translate business objectives into actionable engineering plans and roadmaps. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all the projects and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standard. Effectively manage and mobilize resources and risks and make data-driven decisions to optimize project outcomes.
• Foster innovation and efficiency in BAU and promote metrics driven culture. You would collaborate to develop a 'Follow The Sun' model for service delivery (production support) aligned with ITIL framework.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, peers across the globe to define and continuously refine the operating model for services, projects and any other initiatives to for demand management, capacity planning and continuous operating efficiency. Drive engineering best practices , governance standards, quality assurance, and code review processes to maintain a high level of engineering excellence and ensure scalable and maintainable software solutions. Identify opportunities for innovation and propose technology-driven solutions to business challenges.
• Participate in the recruitment process to attract top engineering talent . Develop and nurture a skilled and motivated team, providing coaching, training, and professional growth opportunities.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements, evaluate new technologies, and make informed recommendations to improve product performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the executive team in defining the engineering budget and effectively allocate resources to maximize productivity and deliver results in a cost-effective manner.
• Identify potential technical risks and challenges in projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution. Ensure that engineering practices align with industry standards, data security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide the necessary oversight for SOWs with outsourcing vendor s for contracts and monitor the project deliverables and milestones

Skills & Knowledge

Qualification & Certifications

• A minimum of B.E/BTech degree in Computer Science or related field
• PMP-PMI (good to have)
• ITIL (good to have)

Primary Skills (Must Have)

• Experienced in leadership role and have program/project management skills
• Excellent people management, stakeholder and communication skills
• Solid understanding of PL/SQL, data modeling, performance tuning, query optimizations in OLTP/OLAP
• Solid understanding of AWS ecosystem and have hands-on implementation knowledge of compute, storage, security, identity, serverless, database and machine learning capabilities
• Solid understanding of building data warehousing (Redshift, Snowflake or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of building ETL solution using any Informatica, AWS Glue, Pentaho, Python
• Solid understanding of developing cloud native and scalable, flexible and resilient solutions

Secondary Skills (Good to Have)

• AWS solution deployment experience
• Enterprise architecture knowledge
• Cloud deployment/migration journey experience

USP of the Role

This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring the leading the Architecture org of SSGA India IT and be accountable for end-to-end deployment of solutions. Technical exposure in solution development with knowledge of Data Engineering in Oracle, Postgres, Redshift solution and ETL solution in Informatica or equivalent for Data Warehousing is a must.
