2024 CIB Research & Analytics, Securities Services – Alternative Fund Services - CA Industrial Trainee - Academic Internship -  Bengaluru and Hyderabad, India

Job Title:  Alternative Fund Services – CA Industrial Trainee – Academic Internship Program 2024 

Short Job Description 

We have an opportunity to work as a part of Private Equity & Real Assets team, which caters to end to end fund administration services across strategies including private equity, infrastructure, and real estate. Services offered are fund accounting, financial reporting, portfolio accounting, investor relations and payments. 

Job Summary

We are looking for highly motivated aspiring accountants ready to develop careers in Private Equity & Real Asset team.  

The role provides insights into complex fund structures, accounting, and financial reporting. 

Collaborating in a team environment, contributing to the overall goals of the firm 

Fostering good relationships with colleagues globally 

Clearly communicating in written and oral forms including presentations and models 

Building your network across the firm including peers, mentors, and senior executives 

Job Responsibilities 

Role and responsibilities of a fund accountant includes -  

To prepare, review and analyze of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with supporting documentation under various accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP) 

To input double entry bookkeeping to the accounting system and perform cash reconciliation 

To prepare investor notices and capital statements, and handling queries from fund managers, investors, and auditors 

To prepare client reporting and adhoc reports for the fund or investors 

Other responsibilities may include:

Setting up fund/investment static data in the system 

Overseeing investor/fund payments 

Calculating fees and preparing waterfall files 

Ensure all controls and procedures are followed 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Excellent academic record 

Keen interest in accounting and financial markets 

Cleared Common Proficiency Test (CPT) and Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) all groups 

Pursuing a qualification degree with expected completion date in 2025/2026 

Available for Chartered Accountant Industrial Training for 12 to 18 months starting August 2024 

Expected to sit for Chartered Accountant Final Exams in November 2025 / May 2026 

Strong quantitative and analytical skills 

Ability to work independently and in a team environment 

Excellent oral and written communication skills 

Proactive, highly organized with strong attention to details 

Ability to deliver quality under pressure
