Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Junior QA Engineer with strong manual testing fundamentals and internship or project experience in software testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding requirements, creating test cases, executing different types of testing, reporting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

This role is ideal for a fresher looking to build a long-term career in Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  

• Prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
  

• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and usability testing for web, mobile, and API-based applications.
  

• Identify, document, track, and retest defects, ensuring fixes are validated before release.
  

• Execute basic SQL queries for data validation and verify API functionality where required.
  

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and clarify requirements.
  

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, release testing, production validation, and maintain testing documentation.
  

• Continuously enhance product knowledge and testing skills.

Requirements

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Software Testing fundamentals, SDLC, and STLC.
  

• Hands-on manual testing experience through internships, academic, or personal projects.
  

• Ability to design test scenarios, write detailed test cases, and create clear bug reports.
  

• Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and API testing concepts.
  

• Basic knowledge of SQL, database validation, HTTP methods, status codes, and browser developer tools.
  

• Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
  

• Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate a proactive learning mindset.
  

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Postman, Jira, Zoho Projects, or similar defect-tracking tools.
  

• Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  

• Exposure to mobile application testing.
  

• Awareness of automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
  

• Basic knowledge of Git or other version-control systems.
  

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  

• Candidates from other educational backgrounds with strong testing knowledge and relevant practical experience are also encouraged to apply.
