CEEW is
looking to hire a Research Intern with skills and knowledge in public health,
environmental health, and data analysis to join the Climate Resilience team.
CEEW seeks
to engage a dynamic and detail-oriented intern to support its research team in
finalizing Heat Action Plans (HAPs) across multiple states. The selected intern
will assist with proofreading documents for language, formatting, and
consistency, as well as reviewing third-party material for copyright
compliance. This role is ideal for individuals with strong editorial skills and
an interest in climate action, public policy, and knowledge dissemination.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the
individual should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional
responsibilities.
Job duties and
accountabilities
Primary
responsibilities
● Proofreading HAP documents for grammar, spelling,
punctuation, and formatting errors.
● Ensuring stylistic consistency across various sections
of the document.
● Reviewing citations, references, and image sources for
completeness and accuracy.
● Assisting in verifying whether third-party materials
(maps, figures, photos) comply with copyright requirements and suggesting
alternative visuals when needed.
● Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to
clarify ambiguities in document content or attribution.
● Supporting documentation of copyright permissions
received and creating a compliance log.
● Contributing to the preparation of clean, final
versions of the HAPs for publication or submission to government bodies.
Selection
Criteria
Qualification
● Current student or
recent graduate in English, Communications, Law, Public Policy, or related
fields.
Work experience
● 0-1 years.
Key skills
● Strong command of
written English and a keen eye for detail.
● Familiarity with
citation styles (APA, Chicago, etc.) and document formatting standards.
● Experience in
editorial work, legal research, or copyright review (preferred but not
mandatory).
● Proficiency with
Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
● Interest in climate
resilience, governance, or urban policy is an asset.
CEEW operates in a dynamic

undertaking a variety of tasks.
Compensation
Competitive compensation –
commensurate to the experience and matching the best of standards adopted by
the industry or other similar organisations for similar roles.
