Job Description - TAS Valuation Analyst, Traineeship Programme 6 Month FTC

Practice Overview: 

At Ankura, the TAS Valuation team offers hands‑on exposure to a broad range of valuation assignments, including business enterprise valuations, intangible asset valuations (such as customer relationships, technology, trademarks), and the measurement of complex financial instruments (including options, derivatives, and structured securities). Role Overview: 

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday as part of a six-month traineeship program. You are expected to work from the Gurgaon office at least three days a week. A permanent role may be offered upon successful performance during the traineeship.

The Valuation Trainee supports the preparation of high‑quality valuation analyses across businesses, intangible assets, and financial instruments. The role includes building core valuation models, analyzing financial statements and key value drivers, conducting comparable company and transaction research, and preparing projections and scenario analyses. The trainee contributes to the development of valuation deliverables used for transactions, financial reporting, tax, and strategic decision‑making.

You will work from the Gurgaon office at least 3 days per week. High performers may be considered for a permanent role after successful completion of the traineeship.

Responsibilities:

Valuation & Financial Modelling

  • Assist in developing high‑quality valuation models, including DCF, income approach, market approach, and option‑pricing models such as Black‑Scholes.

  • Support valuation of tangible and intangible assets, alternative investments, and fixed‑income instruments.

  • Conduct in‑depth analysis of financial statements, historical performance, cash flows, and value drivers to support valuation conclusions.

  • Perform comparable company analysis, precedent transaction research, and benchmarking for valuation inputs.

  • Prepare scenario analyses, financial projections, and supporting calculations used in valuation reports.

Research & Analytical Support

  • Conduct industry, market, and company research to identify trends and assess valuation impacts.

  • Gather data for valuation inputs, assess market assumptions, and identify key financial metrics.

  • Assist with the analysis required for valuations related to ASC 350, 718, 805, 820, and IRC 409A.

Documentation & Deliverables

  • Support the preparation of valuation reports, presentations, and proposals for internal and client review.

  • Ensure proper engagement documentation and adherence to quality control standards.

  • Contribute to clear, concise, and well‑structured deliverables summarizing valuation analyses.

Requirements:

  • Must be based in Gurgaon and can commit to 3 days per week in the office.

  • Master’s degree or current student in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration (preferred).

  • Progress toward CFA/ASA or similar professional certification is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of valuation concepts, corporate finance, economics, and accounting.

  • Proficiency in Excel, including financial modelling techniques.

  • Familiarity with valuation methods such as DCF, option pricing, intangible asset valuation, and market‑based approaches.

  • Ability to work with financial research tools and databases.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and service level metrics.

  • Capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to support a global environment.
