Overview
A Parttime Radiologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare organization by conducting diagnostic imaging procedures to help diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries. They are responsible for interpreting imaging results collaborating with other healthcare professionals and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of diagnostic reports.
Key responsibilities
- Performing and interpreting MRI XRay CT Scan and other diagnostic imaging procedures
- Collaborating with referring physicians to understand and meet patient needs
- Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of radiology reports
- Following safety protocols and maintaining quality control standards
- Communicating effectively with patients to explain imaging procedures
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases
- Keeping abreast of advancements in radiology technology and techniques
- Adhering to ethical and professional standards in patient care
- Providing guidance and training to radiologic technologists and staff
- Managing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting issues
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
- Board certification in Radiology
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration
- Completion of a residency program in Diagnostic Radiology
- Strong proficiency in interpreting a variety of imaging studies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Thorough understanding of radiation safety and protection principles
- Experience in a clinical setting or hospital environment
- Knowledge of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Ability to handle a high volume of imaging studies while maintaining accuracy
- Empathy compassion and sensitivity in patient interactions
- Flexibility to work on a parttime schedule with potential for additional hours
