Freelance / Part-time Home Textile Designer

Role Summary

Looking for a creative and commercially oriented Textile Designer to develop designs and concepts for home-furnishing made-ups. The role will involve developing new designs, patterns, colourways and product concepts based on trends and customer requirements. This is a freelance/part-time role, with the level of engagement depending on the volume of work. Occasional travel to Panipat will be required for design and product-development discussions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop creative designs, motifs, patterns, prints and colourways for home-furnishing products.


• Work on products such as cushions, bed linen, throws, table linen and other made-ups.


• Develop mood boards, design concepts and collection presentations.


• Work on textile prints, surface designs, embroidery and/or weave concepts.


• Coordinate with the team in Panipat for sampling and product development.


• Keep abreast of home-textile trends, colours and international design trends.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree/Diploma in Textile Design; NIFT Textile Design graduates preferred.


• 2–15 years of relevant experience in home textiles, home furnishings, made-ups or textile exports.


• Strong creative and aesthetic sense with a good understanding of colours, patterns and fabrics.


• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; textile CAD experience is an advantage.


• Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant textile/home-furnishing design work.


• Candidates based in Delhi NCR preferred, with willingness to travel to Panipat occasionally.


• Freelancers / independent designers / consultants with relevant experience are welcome.
