Consultant General Adult Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist to join our client’s multidisciplinary mental health team within the HSE. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric services for adults within the community and inpatient settings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinical leadership, assessment, diagnosis, and management of adult patients with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across primary, community, and acute settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct psychiatric care to adult service users in accordance with HSE policy and Mental Health Act 2001.

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary community mental health team (CMHT).

• Supervise and support NCHDs, psychiatric nurses, and other allied health professionals.

• Engage in service planning, development, and continuous improvement activities.

• Participate in on-call rota as required by the service.

• Contribute to training, teaching, audit, and research activities as part of the consultant role.

1. Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland, in the specialty of Psychiatry.

• Extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of general adult psychiatric disorders.

• Proven ability to lead and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Excellent communication, clinical, and organisational skills
