Locum Nurse- Minor Injuries

The business operates diagnostic imaging and minor injuries centres' around the country, offering a broad range of cutting-edge imaging technology and healthcare services to the public, insurers, employers and other organisations.

We’re recruiting locum nurses to join a growing healthcare teams across Dublin and Naas. Candidates must have an active NMBI Registration & experience in minor injuries/emergency medicine.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients presenting with minor injuries such as fractures, sprains, wounds, burns, and soft tissue injuries

• Perform clinical assessments, triage, and prioritise care based on acuity and clinical need.

• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, escalating concerns appropriately

• Educate patients and families on injury management, wound care, and follow-up instructions.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and clinical interventions.

• Support infection prevention and control practices within the unit.

• Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities.

• Assist in recruitment activities, including mentoring new staff and onboarding processes

• Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate nursing interventions as required.

• Maintain professional development and stay updated with best practices in emergency and injury care.

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with NMBI.

• 3 yrs postgraduate experience in general practice, A&E or minor injuries setting. 

• Experience in minor trauma, general medicine, sports medicine or orthopaedics would also be desirable as would a knowledge of the Irish healthcare system.
