Job Description : Marketing Communications Manager 



(Internal Position to Rethink Ireland Staff ONLY)    



Contract:            2 Years Fixed Term Contract 


Salary:                €57,500 – €69,000 (Dependent on experience) 


Based:                Substantially in Dublin or Cork, with regular travel within                                            Ireland.  


Annual Leave:     24 days per annum

Hybrid working:Opportunity to work mainly from home 


 


ROLE PURPOSE 


Reporting to the Business Development Directorthe Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for developing and delivering Rethink Ireland’s brand, marketing, communications strategy in line with the organisation’s Strategic Plan.   


The role ensures high-quality, consistent messaging and engagement with key stakeholders including donors, media, the public, and internal teams.  


This post plays a central role in supporting income generation, brand building, internal communications, and the promotion of Rethink Ireland’s impact.  


A critical element of the role is project management—coordinating the full scope of marketing and communications work across multiple teams, timelines, and stakeholder groups. It manages up to 5 direct reports. The role is also a member of the crisis communications committee, contributing to high-level decision-making. 



RESPONSIBILITIES 



  • Develop and implement a strategic marketing and communications plan to support the organisation’s goals 



  • Lead, manage, and support the Marketing Team (up to 5 direct reports), ensuring delivery against KPIs and objectives 



  • Act as lead project manager for all major marketing initiatives, coordinating timelines, deliverables, internal input, and external suppliers 



  • Manage and oversee the marketing budget with appropriate financial controls, in line with finance policy 



  • Support the Business Development team on income generation campaigns and donor engagement 



  • Coordinate donor and prospect communications and maintain high-quality relationships with funders and partners 



  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Management Team and Impact Management and Learning Team to source impact data and stories for campaigns 



  • Prepare and present marketing performance reports and plans to the Leadership Team and Board as  



  • Ensure alignment of all communications with the organisation’s brand and tone of voice 



  • Act as an internal advisor on messaging and communications for teams across the organisation 



  • Advise Leadership on internal communications and manage the Internal Communications Plan.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 



  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing and/or communications 



  • Proven experience in managing people and leading a team 



  • Strong digital capability and experience, including leading teams in the effective use of digital tools and platforms. 



  • Strong project management skills with a track record of coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder campaigns or initiatives 



  • Experience managing budgets and large projects with multiple deliverables and deadlines 



  • Ability to set clear objectives, track progress, and deliver results 



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex messages 



  • Strategic thinker with the ability to plan long-term while managing day-to-day priorities 



  • Ability to work independently while leading and supporting a team to operate effectively within a hybrid working environment. 



  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills 



  • High integrity, sound judgment, and reliable decision-making 



Desirable 



  • Experience in brand-building, public awareness, or behavioural change campaigns 



  • Experience in fundraising communications or supporting income generation strategies 



  • Experience in designing and delivering digital campaigns through email marketing, social media or other digital platforms
