Paediatric Registrar

Our client is seeking applications for the position of Paediatric Registrar to take up the post until July 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:

  Provide medical care to children, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of various conditions. 

• Multi-Disciplinary Team:

  Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals (nurses, specialists, etc.) to ensure comprehensive patient care. 

• Clinical Duties:

  Participate in acute general paediatrics, including CAU/ED cover, general paediatric outpatient clinics, and ward duties. 

• On-Call & Weekend Cover:

  Participate in on-call duties and weekend cover as required by the hospital's needs. 

• Communication:

  Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. 

• Documentation:

  Maintain accurate and detailed patient records. 

• Audit & Risk Management:

  Participate in clinical audits, risk management activities, and quality improvement initiatives. 

• Professional Development:

  Enhance knowledge and skills in paediatric medicine through continuous professional development and engagement with sub-specialties. 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Medical Degree: Hold a recognized medical degree and be registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC). 

• Paediatric Experience: Relevant experience in paediatrics, often including experience in acute care settings. 

• Registration: Active registration with the IMC is mandatory. 

• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
