The AML/FCC Manager sits within CurrencyFair’s Operations team and is responsible for the delivery of industry leading customer onboarding and transaction monitoring; ensuring customer and regulatory needs are identified and addressed in a timely, accurate and responsive manner, in accordance with regulatory obligations, guidelines, associated rules and CurrencyFair internal policies.
As well as directly supporting the B2B and B2C onboarding process, the successful candidate will also be responsible for the transaction monitoring function, playing a key role in leading the teams and achieving KPI’s, as well as supporting the Customer Support and Payments managers and working closely with Compliance, Marketing and Product as well as other areas of the business.
This is a diverse, challenging and dynamic role requiring a high degree of attention to detail, excellent problem solving ability and outstanding people skills.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Managing the company’s operational FCC programme. This involves recommending new tools and reviewing new products for vulnerabilities from an FCC perspective, proactively collaborating with other teams (Compliance Data Analytics Product Marketing etc) to improve performance.
Support the B2B & B2C Onboarding, Ongoing Due Diligence and Transaction Monitoring processes including but not exclusively
PEP and Sanctions screening checks on transactions,customers & related parties
Reviewing and verifying customer information and transactional activity
Fraud related checks (including STR reporting and other red flags)
Responsible for ensuring the day to day AML/FCC operational activities and SLAs are met and exceeded. Developing KPIs and reporting to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of controls, and taking action to continuously improve the overall process performance.
As the manager, you will act as the SME for FCC operations actioning escalations from cross functional teammates and supporting the resolution of ad-hoc queries related to complex cases or complaints.
Act as a champion for the customer on all FCC related decisions, actions and touchpoints whilst adhering to all regulatory/compliance frameworks.
Accountable for the controls within FCC - ensuring consistent focus on the control environment
Contribute to operational and AML audits and regulatory meetings as required.
Engage in one to one meetings with direct reports, coaching and mentoring team members; act as point of escalation for the team
Reporting to senior management and the business as required.
Required
5+ years experience within at least one of the following financial crime operational process (business onboarding/CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, fraud detection)
In depth understanding of B2B and B2C AML/KYC compliance / regulatory requirements
Proven experience in completing reviews for high risk / complex transaction monitoring / KYC cases
Highly proactive and self-starting with experience in taking on additional tasks and delivering projects to deadlines
Experience in analysing, interrogating, executing, changing and documenting business processes and procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills and capability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Experience in working with financial services regulation
A strong sense of professional curiosity and purpose, with a willingness to learn
Strong IT skills with ability to analyse data through excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in managing a team
Technical Competencies
Familiarity in Regulatory environment in Ireland, EU and UK
Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks and AML good practice
Strong IT skills with ability to analyse data through excel
