Job Description - BIM / AutoCAD Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a BIM/AutoCAD Engineer to join our Engineering Division. This full time, permanent role will be predominantly based in our Head Office in Dublin however will be required to attend sites within the Leinster region as required. The successful candidate will support the Engineering Manager through the delivery of high-quality data enriched models and construction drawings while being involved in project planning, detailed design development and co-ordination between disciplines.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage and resolve clashes and co-ordination issues between disciplines
  • Responsible for the production of drawings, specifications and delivering all 2D and 3D co-ordination milestones on each project
  • Liaise with package managers and site engineers to co-ordinate complex MEP installations
  • Oversee the planning of works to include the design, procurement, installation and commissioning right through to handover in line with both Company and client procedure
  • Provide support to the design review, validation and management of the design development
  • Involvement in all aspects of the preconstruction stage, technical submissions, production of construction drawings, prefabrication and building control submissions
  • Supporting the production and delivery of project BEP, MIDP, MPDT and digital implementation strategy
  • Review and validate Project Information Model (PIM) developed by design teams and subcontractors
  • Data manipulation of original drawings according to the revision of the specification
  • Conduct independent reading and research to ensure drawing/specification accuracy
  • Ensure that quality assurance procedures are fully implemented for each project in accordance with both Company and client requirements
  • Assist with the review of tender documentation issued by the client and provide support to the Estimation Team to ensure a thorough understanding of the projects electrical requirements
  • As may be required, attend site surveys and liaise with other departments, suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Represent the Company at site visits and meetings with clients as required
  • Proactively enhance and improve the service delivered by Sensori Group
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Degree in Building Information Modelling (Level 7/8) or a related Engineering / Architecture Undergraduate Degree (Level 7/8) preferable
  • 3-5 years’ experience working on multiple electrical and/or mechanical projects
  • Experience in software applications (AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks). Understanding Dynamo desirable but not essential
  • Excellent understanding of BIM procedures, protocols and data management software tools
  • A good understanding of construction and the sequencing of works onsite
  • Have a passion for digitalising common construction practices and a keen desire to influence the use of innovative technology within a business
  • Working towards a MCIBSE/IMechE membership with Chartered Engineer status
  • Ability to understand drawings and tender documents
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluent English
