CoAction have an exciting vacancy for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team. Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager will be the strategic financial planner and manager for CoAction; ensuring that the organisation’s resources are managed effectively and efficiently; which will ultimately assist with the achievement of the Vision and Strategic aims.
The Finance Manager will be an integral member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and will be the strategic Financial Manager and planner for CoAction, ensuring that the organisation’s resources are managed effectively and efficiently. The Finance Manager will have responsibility for a budget in excess of €10 million, which is envisaged to grow year on year in line with the developing organisation. CoAction is a Section 39 organisation primarily funded by the HSE.
The Finance Manager has overall responsibility for managing the finance department, financial reporting, budget preparation, resource management, vehicle fleet management, housing/ capital developments, insurance, and procurement.
The Finance Manager will have responsibilities within an number of areas including:
Financial Reporting & Accountability, with overall responsibility for the Finance Function and staff, ensuring all Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are achieved to the required standard
Responsible for the effective implementation of CoAction’s financial control systems, achieving compliance with the procedures set out in CoAction’s Finance Manual, and meeting all regulatory and legal reporting requirements including Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)
Overall responsibility for the timely completion of month-end reconciliations, monthly management accounts, quarterly and annual financial reports to the management team, reports to the HSE and the Board of Trustees of CoAction, statutory returns to the Revenue, CSO etc.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, participate in the ongoing strategic planning, development and continuous improvement of the organisation as relevant
In collaboration with the CEO, represent CoAction in negotiating with existing funders and own the financial relationship with such funders e.g. HSE
Develop financial analysis and reports to track the performance of the key financial performance indicators for the Management team and the Board
Develop, regularly review (minimum quarterly) and update the Risk Register for finance risks and integrate into the overall Risk Matrix.
Ensure an appropriate audit trail is maintained for all transactions and ensure financial statements are prepared for internal or external auditors as required
In collaboration with the Senior Management Team maintain proactive management of property strategy and property acquisitions, and compliance with leading Approved Housing Body (AHBRA) regulations, Residential Tenancies Board etc.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Qualified accountant (CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with at least five years’ experience, including two years at a Senior Management level
Experienced in producing monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts and managing year end processes (including liaising with auditors).
Experienced in the preparation and management of a significant and multifaceted annual budget (circa €10million) and cashflow management
Experience of managing staff, and of providing leadership in a senior management role.
Excellent analytical skills and track record in producing meaningful analysis to support decision making.
Knowledge of implementing and using stand-alone accounting systems (eg SAGE 50), payroll systems and the Microsoft Office suite
Experience of managing audit processes
