IT Support Specialist

• Hybrid Role (Up to 2 days WFH) Office is based in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork
• 9 month Maternity cover contract

Key Responsibilities (full job description available upon request)

Server and Network Hardware :

• Install and configure network devices based on National IT guidance.
• Perform server and network device reboots post-update.
• Monitor the status of the server and network devices.

End User Hardware :

• Procure IT hardware through NIT or Ariba platforms.
• Handle desk IT hardware installations and cabling.
• Set up and troubleshoot video conferences.

Troubleshooting:

• Gather fault information from end users and escalate as needed.
• Utilize extensive IT knowledge to troubleshoot various components, including network cabling, workstation setups, power provisioning, and Wi-Fi optimization.

Coordination :

• Schedule downtime for location services under NIT guidance.
• Coordinate maintenance teams for IT-related tasks requiring special access.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for NIT contractors.
• Advise users on current IT policies.

Security and Permissions :

• Create and manage new user accounts and mailboxes.
• Administer user permissions via ADM and Store ADM.
• Regularly audit permissions granted within ADM.

Key Requirements

• A relevant IT related degree or equivalent experience in a varied IT support role
• Effective communication skills and comfortable working in a standalone site specific position while being part of a bigger national IT Team.
