Lead EHS - Dublin

ROLE PURPOSE
This position provides environmental, health, and safety leadership to the project, in support of the EHS Campus Manager.
This position is accountable for acting as lead for the project EHS team, coordinating routine activities and returns, and acting as a key point of contact for Kirby Management and the client EHS team. The responsibilities below are in addition to the existing EHS Advisor responsibilities.



KEY FUNCTIONS

• Provide EHS leadership and coordination within the site team.
• Proactively coordinate all EHS matters within the project, keeping project management and the EHS Campus Manager informed of any concerns, issues, incidents, and positive outcomes and events.
• Coordinate and delegate workload to the site EHS team, ensuring equal share of workload across the team. Ensure all team members are familiar and competent with all tasks and activities.
• Deputise for the EHS Campus Manager in site or campus matters and meetings if required.
• Assist the EHS Campus Manager in developing and implementing focus strategies and events for the project.
• Act as the key point of contact for the EHS team in the event of any incident, informing management and the Campus Manager, and managing EHS communications regarding the incident.
• Monitor training requirements for the project against the TNA, and arrange training for the team and staff as required.

KEY TASKS, ACTIVITIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Coordinate the team workload to ensure all weekly and monthly audits and returns are completed in the required timescales.
• Update EHS section for weekly project minutes, and attend weekly project meeting.
• Attend or delegate attendance at GC EHS meetings and site walks, ensuring staff are clear on any items to be raised. Collate and cascade any minutes or actions which come out of the meetings.
• Provide updates for the weekly EHS Team meetings.
• Ensure all EHS files (electronic and hard-copy), and boards are kept up to date with the latest versions of key documents. Monitor and maintain project EHS folders ensuring good version control and naming discipline.
• Ensure the Reward and Recognition boards, and Health & Wellbeing boards are regularly updated with new information and initiatives.
• Support the EHS Campus Manager in identifying and implementing key activities and focus strategies for the site, aligning with Kirby Corporate and site-specific programmes.
• Be conversant with the national & local regulatory requirements, the company safety statement, environment manual, risk assessments, aspects & impacts and Kirby procedures.
• Reviews Incidents, Site Visit Schedules, KPIs, Non-Conformances, Site Audit Inspection Reports, Supply Chain reviews, health and safety suggestions, complaints and requests for information and follows up with action.
• Ensure all information is up to date and available for the preparation of end-of-month Kirby KPI reporting. Be prepared to create the monthly site EHS report if the Campus Manager is unavailable.
• Act as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Ensuring that all incidents and dangerous occurrences are reported and investigated.
• Liaises with and develops positive relationships with GC and Client as required.
• Identifies, co-ordinates and provides training as required.

Issues Non-conformances, commendations and disciplinary notices, written and verbal if required or instructed to do so. Assists with SLTs, prequalification’s and non-commercial submissions for tenders.
