Accounts Receivable Officer

Dublin

Reports To: Senior Finance Manager

Grade: 6

 

The salary scale for this role is €34,941 - €55,015; with Long Service increments of LSI1: €56,819 and LSI2: €58,617.

 

New Entrants to the Public Sector commence on the first point of the Scale

In this role, you will ensure the efficient management of the Bord Bia Income Streams, which includes Statutory Levy Income and Industry Contributions.

 

What you’ll do

  1. Daily management of Bord Bia incoming credit card, cheque and EFT payments and ensuring the payments are allocated to the correct debtor accounts. Management of the weekly cheque lodgements to our bank.

  2. Review of all cash received journals posted to the general ledger by the finance intern.

  3. Ensuring all sales invoices, credit notes, levy returns and amounts due are accurately recorded on the finance systems.

  4. Preparing monthly statements for our trade debtors and levy debtors and pursuing all outstanding monies.

  5. Preparation of month end reports and reconciliations for trade debtor and levy debtor accounts and assist the Senior Manager, Finance with month-end, year-end and reporting as required.

  6. Preparing month end and year end journals for manual bank payments and debtor corrections and assist with other ad-hoc finance functions as required..

  7. Management of our sales invoicing system and levy system, including adding new users and providing training to users as needed.

  8. Management of the accounts receivable email inbox and queries from Bord Bia colleagues in relation to sales invoices and monies received.

  9. Liaising with the marketing finance team to review and clear grant amounts for payment. Liaising with other project teams are required prior to client being invited to participate in Bord Bia events.

  10. Management of the finance intern, including monitoring performance and setting a development plan.

  11. Adhere to the One Bord Bia Operating Model

  About You

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

  Knowledge:

  • Experience operating in a busy finance department, and in a bookkeeping or accountancy role

  • Knowledge of Public Sector financial and reporting obligations

  • Knowledge of the Bord Bia act and statutory levy

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Digital first mindset

  • Comfortable with an agile culture focused on continuous improvement.

  • Proven record of working independently in a financial administration role.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong verbal ability to explain financial terms and procedures to non-finance personnel.

  • Strong administration skills with proven ability to organise and complete tasks in an efficient, methodical and organised manner.

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office.

  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.

  • Confident manner and ability to work effectively in a credit control role.  

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

  Knowledge:

  • Degree or diploma level qualification in relevant discipline, e.g. Business, Accountancy etc. desirable

  • Good overall understanding of Irish Agriculture and Food Industry.

  Skills & Capabilities:

  • Proven experience of building credible professional relationships with stakeholders and customers.
