Your role

  • Accountable for ensuring high availability and system readiness, as well as ongoing Business Support, Systems administration and Business as Usual maintenance of Key Operations Systems where Business System Ownership is within the Operations Control Department
  • Accountable for implementation and compliance with the Aer Lingus & IAG Systems User Access policy for Operations Control systems 
  • Responsible for managing all Systems Administration processes and mandated systems upgrades for continuity of vendor support,
  • Maintain effective and productive vendor relationships through engagement with vendor account managers as the core airline link, to streamline and prioritise business requirement delivery to ensure systems are ‘fit for purpose’ to deliver the business requirements and strategy
  • Responsible for ensuring effective operational and other Data Quality for core Operational Systems listed above
  • Responsible for Operations Control User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes and delivery associated with all system developments and upgrades and co-ordination of UAT across departments
  • Accountable for successful Internal Systems Audits (IAG) delivery
  • Accountable for successful External Systems Audits (EY) delivery
  • Provide system and business Subject Matter expertise to the Business and Technical teams on all matters relating to system development, integration and capabilities for driving automation and process efficiencies across the business
  • Liaise with Operations Control Business Intelligence team to align system capabilities with the ongoing and developing operational BI reports and dashboards.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Operations Control systems and solutions are compliant with any systems relevant legislation, regulations and contractual agreements required to enable delivery of the Aer Lingus operation,
  • Ensure that all operational data and information is handled in an appropriate manner within Operations Control.
  • Ensure that all Operations Control systems are secure, including updates and patches all delivered and implemented in a timely manner. E.g. AIMS BAU system maintenance etc.
  • Pro-actively maintain and ensure Operations Control systems readiness and alignment with the Operations Control Business Continuity Plan and provide regular updates to the BCP documentation as appropriate
  • Maintain system documentation and training material up to date in line with BAU and operational system updates
  • Provide Subject Matter expertise to all Operations Control projects as required.

Your qualifications and key criteria

To be considered for the role of AIMS Administrator & Business Support Specialist, candidates must meet the following:

  • Knowledge of AIMS and airline operations is desirable.
  • Demonstrates a creative and innovative approach to technical solutions with proven critical thinking and analytical skills
  • People Management Experience with the ability to influence and motivate peers
  • Strong knowledge of key Operational Systems used by Aer Lingus Operations Control
  • Strong understanding of Information Technology infrastructure at Aer Lingus with technical / IT skillset or relevant qualifications
  • Strong Business acumen or skillset with experience of business requirements and strategy or relevant qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Project Management requirements and ability to work collaboratively with a proven track record of delivering projects on time
  • Process driven with a focus on quality and product delivery
  • Be a strong independent contributor with proven ability to work as part of a high performing teams and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent numerical and organisational skills, with a high degree of accuracy/attention to detail
  • Results-focused and solution-driven with proven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent planning, co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office
  • Flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude to change
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
  • Provide 2 verifiable references
  • Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin

Applications are currently being invited for the role of Aims Administrator & Business Support Specialist. Situated within the Operations Control Department, the AIMS Administrator and Business Support Specialist role is a business function responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the key operational system deployed across multiple functions and departments at Aer Lingus. This role is required to ensure that all operational data is robust and accurate for data compliance, system stewardship and all core corporate Business Intelligence system interfaces, this includes AIMS, AIMSeCREW and all related interfaces and add-on modules associated with AIMS. GDPR requirements also fall within the scope of this role including Data Protection Impact Assessments. Furthermore, this role is responsible for implementation and compliance with all corporate and regulatory policies relating to systems deployment, usage and maintenance for Operations Control. It is a core deliverable of this role to maintain this key operational systems in technical support and up to date with scheduled vendor mandated upgrade releases. This role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of new and emerging technology to support the Operations Control business strategy such as the eCrew technology to make AIMS available on mobile devices Business Transformation delivery.
