Creative Manager 


We are looking for a passionate and experienced Creative Manager to join our in-house Creative team. 

The Creative Manager develops strategies to execute (multi-disciplinary) projects, they meet with the stakeholder to discuss and approve the proposed creative direction.  They ensure that a project vision is created and enacted on time, on budget and they manage the people, processes, and technology that make it happen. 

In this role, you are responsible for managing a team of graphic and document designers, which involves both the engagement and development of these people. This individual has developed in-depth industry knowledge and experience in a creative field or wider creative management and is responsible for the direction of a creative team and its people. They move the team forward creatively whilst thinking of new and strategic opportunities on how the team works with the business now, and into the future. Keeping abreast of and communicating to the team; industry trends and global brand updates where applicable is key here. 

The creative manager will serve as the facilitator for projects and will ideate and guide the development of the initial concepts for all campaigns. They need to have a user centric mindset to solving problems, interpersonal skills, communication skills, and multitasker skills to ensure team members have fulfilled their responsibilities and that every part of the creative project runs smoothly. Critiquing and benchmarking creative work is a huge part of this role as is ensuring quality control and excellence in service delivery. By championing collaboration, along with problem solving skills to deal with whatever problems surface during the creative process, the creative manager will be set up for success.  

The Creative Manager role is part of our Leadership function which sits within the Creative Team and as such, supports the Function Lead with planning and preparation for team meetings as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key leadership role to ensure excellence in service delivery from the Creative Ireland team – this includes but is not limited to people and performance management, recruitment and onboarding, process improvement and stakeholder management
  • Oversee original concepts for projects with specific focus on visual elements across multi-channels including design, motion, video and broadcast and in line with stakeholder requirements. 
  • Use artistic skills and knowledge of the production and design processes to ensure outputs that effectively targets the campaign's audience and achieves the stakeholder’s objectives for the campaign.
  • Presenting ideas to multi-disciplinary creative teams and stakeholders when required
  • Reviewing creative assets produced offering feedback and advising guidance and advice to ensure a high level of quality control 
  • Meeting and guiding creative team members at project kick off/check-in points throughout and at project closure stages where needed 
  • Mentoring the creative team at all levels to understand design trends, global EY changes, feedback from stakeholders and to celebrate creative success
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure efficient resource planning, escalation and day to day running of the Creative Team
  • Be a career counsellor within the senior levels and provide individual coaching and performance feedback
  • Point of escalation for stakeholder direction, third round of escalation for team matters and the primary point of escalation between the team and Function Lead when dealing with creative matters 
  • Define and contribute to improvements in creative processes and technology that ensure the effective operation of the team
  • Seeks out business development opportunities with stakeholders for Creative Ireland team
  • Provide considered and well thought out input to Function Lead for the annual creative budget process
  • Recruitment of new team members, shortlist candidates and conduct first round interviews, where appropriate 
  • Identify and procure freelance support as and when needed
