Job Description - Events Specialist

At our distillery campus in Midleton, we operate one of Ireland’s most impressive whiskey visitor attractions, the Midleton Distillery Experience, as well as the Irish Whiskey Academy – our whiskey education centre.

Following a multi-million Euro investment, which has seen us re-open since March 2024, an exciting employment opportunity exists for the new role of Events Specialist . The successful candidate will work with the entire Irish Distillers’ team to efficiently coordinate and execute events, Irish Whiskey Academy visitors and ad-hoc visits to the site here at Midleton Distillery Experience.

The role of Events Specialist is a fun and creative role. It is this creativity that differentiates us and makes us agile and critical to the business. This is a full-time role, working over any 5 of the 7 days per week, including some evening work.

What’s involved?

There are 4 main areas of focus in this role:

1) To develop and implement systems and processes for the role of Events Specialist and ensure the are running effectively for the success of the role

2) Coordinate events / host on the day. Taking full responsibility for all events and specialised visits from the planning right through to the final stages

3) Coordinate and manage visits for our Irish Distillers’ Production Ambassador Panel (Master Distillers, Blenders, Cooper etc)

4) Be the point of contact to facilitate schedules with our in-house production teams for all internal filming on site in the Midleton Distillery Experience

In this role, you will also

Be the primary point of contact for external and internal event enquiries at The Midleton Distillery Experience.

Work with our on-site bar, experience, and catering team to plan and execute all event bookings.

Work closely with our Irish Whiskey Academy Tutor to coordinate and oversee visits to the Irish Whiskey Academy for visitors from Irish Distillers’ head office in Dublin, Pernod Ricard group employees and external visitors for the purposes of brand education and marketing.

Manage the annual Irish Whiskey Academy calendar of events.

Carrying out administration tasks for all Events and Irish Whiskey Academy Visits

What are we looking for?

3rd level qualification in Business, Event Management, Hospitality, or related discipline

1-2 years previous experience of running events - experience working in hospitality is preferred.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Strong relationship management skills.

High standards of organisational skills, with great attention to detail.

Calm under pressure and professional at all times.

An enthusiastic individual, with a positive attitude. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
