Why this role is valuable:

 

As the Head of Group Tax, you will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. Managing and overseeing the tax function across the Ornua Group, ensuring the Group’s tax compliance and tax planning is managed appropriately.

 

Areas of responsibility:

 

  • Manage the tax compliance and tax planning function across the Ornua Group.
  • Manage and develop the tax team within the Ornua Group.
  • Oversee and manage the tax requirements and tax risks of the Ornua Group across its various jurisdictions.
  • Manage the tax compliance process for the Group across all relevant tax heads.
  • Ensure all companies meet their tax filing requirements and tax payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Advise business partners on the tax implications of various business transactions and ensure the tax team assist with any ad-hoc tax queries.
  • Identify and assess the impact of new tax legislation in various jurisdictions and advise personnel on implementation within the Ornua Group.
  • Liaise with external advisors to advise on and prepare ad hoc reports for various projects as required.
  • Be the tax lead in respect of Group M&A activity and due diligence processes working closely with the Group’s M&A team.
  • Liaise with the tax authorities and the Groups tax advisors in respect of any tax audits and tax authority queries that may arise.
  • Direct external advisors to prepare, in a timely manner, relevant transfer pricing documentation, including local files, master files, country-by-country reports and specific transaction reports relevant to the Group.
  • Communicate transfer pricing findings to key personnel and ensure their implementation within the Group.
  • Take ownership of the preparation of current and deferred tax provisioning for inclusion in the Consolidated Group Annual Report.
  • Ensure the Group is correctly accounting for VAT in respect of all business transactions.
  • Develop the tax strategy for the Group, promote application of Group wide tax related policies/procedures and promote a strong tax compliance culture throughout the organization.
  • Ensure the necessary documentation is in place for R&D tax credit claims and other relief claims in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with tax authorities, external advisors and personnel across the Ornua Group.

What you bring to the role:

 

  • 5+ years PQE as a Qualified Tax Advisor, must be a member of the Irish Tax Institute.
  • Qualified accountant, must be a member of one of the recognised accountancy bodies (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge of major tax issues for an international business and the ability to translate complex tax matters to the business in a practical commercial manner.
  • Analytical and numerate with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Highly driven and motivated, ability to manage a team and work independently.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and work well under pressure to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to multi-task and have strong project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
