Job Description - Logistics Planner

Undertakes logistic activities to ensure targets are met and optimises manufacturing efficiency. Understands how the business operates and plans for future capacity requirements.

Key Responsibilities and End Results:

  • Efficient planning and organising of work to ensure deliveries are carried out safely, on time and in the most cost-effective way to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor delivery issues and asses them in a timely manner and make necessary changes to meet business requirements.
  • Maintaining and continuously improving current SAP parameters / configurations.
  • Liase with off-site storage locations when booking deliveries on and offsite.
  • Resolve customer and driver queries where relevant.
  • Ensure all required transport data and management information is prepared, maintained, and updated in accordance with the requirements of the company’s transport management software.
  • Provide exemplary customer service in all communications, fostering positive relationships withinternal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage delivery dockets and invoices and any administration requirements to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with GMP in all practices, recording of events and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all learnings from all GMP training events.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.

Job Specifications:

  • Degree Qualified, highly desirable, with specific or additional qualifications in the area of supply chain management, logistics and/or planning including an APICS, CPIM or APICS CSCP certification.
  • 3-5 years’ experience planning, preferably within a manufacturing environment Healthcare/ Pharmaceutical.
  • Strong understanding of forecasting, MPS, and MRP.
  • Strong understanding of Pharmaceutical RA / GMP compliance.
  • Experience of SAP essential.
  • Excellent Excel skills essential, proficient in the use of Word, Power Point, etc.
