Job Description - Marketing Manager

Join Technically Write IT as we build our marketing function. We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead this initiative. This role is ideal for someone who has both strategic vision and hands-on marketing skills, ready to take full ownership of establishing and expanding our marketing department. As our Marketing Manager, you will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with our business development goals and overall company vision . This role offers the opportunity to set up the marketing function initially, and then manage a broader team as the department expands.

Primary tasks and responsibilities

Strategy and Leadership:

  • Create and implement a strategic marketing plan that integrates with our business development objectives to support company growth.
  • Build and manage the marketing team, including future recruitment of marketing personnel and management of external agencies.
  • Be a leading member of the Business Development team with responsibilities for the marketing budget, reporting directly to the Business Development Director and working closely with other business units.

Marketing Execution:

  • Initially manage all aspects of digital marketing including content creation, social media management, and paid advertising campaigns.
  • Set up and oversee the inbound lead generation process to effectively support business development.
  • Use analytics to drive website functionality improvements, optimise campaign performance, and demonstrate ROI and effectiveness of marketing initiatives.

Operational and Team Development:

  • Transition from hands-on marketing tasks to overseeing a team as the marketing function grows.
  • Establish clear marketing KPIs and generate regular reports to assess and enhance performance.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement and client-focused marketing.

Secondary tasks and responsibilities

Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel, organisational structure, and services. Other such responsibilities will include organising and attending events & conferences.

Location

Our office is located in Cork, Ireland. While this is a remote role, occasional face-to-face team meetings are part of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a technology-focused environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experienced in strategic planning with a record of building and leading marketing functions.
  • Skilled in digital marketing tools and platforms, including SEO, PPC, Google Analytics, and social media platforms.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of exceeding business objectives.
  • Adaptable, able to adjust to the evolving needs of the business and lead change.

Bonus skills : Knowledge of CRM systems, HTML/CSS, and graphic design.
